All kayaks, canoes and paddle boards placed on the racks by the cove must be clearly marked with its owner's unit number. Watercraft without unit numbers will be removed by June 1st each year and moved to the storage area near the workshop.
We have had kayak thefts, so make sure you keep a current photo of your kayak, canoe or paddle board, and consider using a lock.
When paddling on nearby coves, watch weather conditions and be cognizant of your experience and skill level. Connecticut law requires there be a properly fitting life jacket for everyone onboard a manually propelled vessel at all times. It also requires that all children less than thirteen years of age at any time during the year, and all adults between Oct 1 and May 31, wear a properly fitting life jacket while onboard a manually propelled vessel.
